The MALM bed is probably IKEA’s most popular bed. It comes in two boxes, one contains the headboard peices and most of the hardware, the second contains the arms that connect to it and some of the longer hardware. They will be marked 1/2 and 2/2, so make sure you have both boxes along with the SKORVA center beam and bed slats before beginning.
Summary:
A drill will really speed this project up, along with a mallet. The 13mm wrench and allen keys you need to complete this project come with the kit, but you will need a screwdriver and hammer to finish this.
Keep the allen key and wrench IKEA provides handy, as you’ll need to periodically tighten up the side walls and headboard.
